Tails and Dewclaws....the REAL story.
After looking into why Europe and Australia have banned docking tails, ear cropping, and dewclaw removal, I can, no longer, in good conscience, dock a tail or remove their thumbs (dewclaws). We used to do this for our Schnoodles...once! Why did we stop? Because I witnessed the puppies feeling it...crying out in pain! And that pain would last!! After that, NEVER MORE! When their tails are left natural, both schnauzers and poodles have tails that naturally curve over their back. Most owners groom their tails into a plume and it is beautiful! We choose to do the humane thing and keep our babies natural!
As far as dewclaws are concerned, they are vital to your dogs ability to get themselves out of a hole or ice. God put them there for a reason and they need them plus just like the tail docking....they feel it! So once again, we choose to do the humane thing and keep our babies natural!
So for the sake of our babies we choose to keep them natural and pain free. Life is painful enough without adding to it! So along with our exemplary nutrition, we truly do have their utmost care in mind!!
